Peer Review Process
International Journal of Educational Qualitative Quantitative Research (IJE-QQR) maintains a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the integrity, originality, and scientific quality of the manuscripts it publishes. The peer review is structured to uphold high standards in the fields of educational research, including learning, teaching, curriculum development, teacher education, educational technology, and educational development.
1. Initial Screening by Editorial Office
Each submitted manuscript is first screened by the editorial team to evaluate:
-
Relevance to the journal’s scope (learning, teaching, curriculum development, teacher education, educational technology, and educational development, etc.)
-
Compliance with submission guidelines (structure, citation style, formatting)
-
Originality, using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts showing more than 20% similarity to existing literature will be rejected outright.
-
Manuscripts not meeting basic requirements are returned to the authors for correction before being considered for peer review.
2. Assignment of Peer Reviewers
At least two to three independent reviewers are selected based on:
-
Expertise in educational research, or related disciplines.
-
Academic qualifications and publication track record.
-
No institutional affiliation with the authors.
-
Absence of any conflict of interest.
Review invitations are sent within two to three weeks of manuscript submission. Reviewers remain anonymous to the authors, and vice versa, ensuring objectivity.
3. Review and Evaluation
Reviewers are given two to four weeks to complete their assessment and provide constructive feedback on:
-
Scientific rigor and methodology
-
Innovation and contribution to eductaion
-
Clarity of presentation, and ethical considerations (especially in studies involving patient data)
-
Relevance and practical application in educational settings
Reviewers make a recommendation:
Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject, and provide detailed justifications for their decision.
4. Editorial Decision
The Editor-in-Chief or an Associate Editor reviews the peer feedback and decides:
-
To accept the manuscript
-
To request revisions
-
Or to reject the manuscript
In cases of divergent reviews, an additional reviewer may be consulted. The editorial decision, along with anonymous reviewer feedback, is communicated to the authors within 4–6 weeks from initial submission.
5. Revision Process
Authors receiving revision requests must:
-
Submit the revised manuscript with highlighted changes
-
Include a point-by-point response letter addressing all reviewer comments
Deadlines:
-
Minor revisions: 2 weeks
-
Major revisions: 4 weeks
Revised manuscripts undergoing major changes may be re-reviewed by the original reviewers.
6. Final Acceptance and Production
Once accepted, manuscripts undergo:
-
Technical editing
-
Language polishing
-
Layout formatting and typesetting
The final proofs are sent to authors for approval before publication. Manuscripts are typically published within 4 to 8 weeks after final acceptance.
This rigorous peer review mechanism ensures that the International Journal of Educational Qualitative Quantitative Research (IJE-QQR) publishes cutting-edge, reliable, and ethically sound research that advances the field of education globally by providing a platform for researchers, educators, and academics.
